
Start by splitting the stock several inches down a straight-grained section. Make sure the split is even.
Shape one end of your scion into a tapering wedge, like shown in the diagram above.

Using a wedge to hold open your stock, insert the scion or scions into the stock.*
After all is done, cover the whole grafted area in grafting wax.
*It is important when inserting your scion(s) into the stock, that you match up the cambium layers with each other.
